Three ingredients. Each taken to its limit.

Deepondé was built around one question: not how many ingredients, but how far one can go.

(Tremella Fuciformis)

1. Snow Mushroom

What It Is

  • Grown pesticide-free in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do, South Korea — single origin, single source
  • Biologically holds up to 500 times its own weight in water
  • Used in Korean skincare tradition for centuries; now validated by clinical data

The Science

  • Natural polysaccharides mimic hyaluronic acid — with superior film-forming ability
  • Penetrates to 2.5mm beneath the skin surface for deep-layer hydration
  • 33.2% measurable increase in skin elasticity
  • 38% reduction in pore area and pore count
  • 16x improvement in skin lifting, measured clinically

How Deepondé Uses It

  • Extracted over 354 hours at low heat via the Vintage 3310™ method
  • Concentrated 10x — one mushroom, one source, nothing blended
  • Carried through four products: Ampoule, Mist, Mask, Cream

(Dioscorea Japonica)

2. Plant Mucin

What It Is

  • Vegan mucin from Korean mountain yam (Dioscorea Japonica), sourced from Andong, Korea
  • Ethical, plant-based alternative to snail mucin
  • Used as a priming agent — conditions the barrier before other products are applied

The Science

  • Creates a hydrophilic film that enhances absorption of every subsequent skincare step
  • Supports the skin's natural repair mechanisms without adding bioactive complexity

How Deepondé Uses It

  • Applied first after cleansing — sets the foundation for everything that follows
  • Two products: First Mucin Ampoule and First Mucin Ampoule Mist
  • Only 6 ingredients in the formula

Editorial: 'Mucin is the foundation. Everything else works harder because of it.'

(Reduced Form, 99% Purity)

3. Glutathione

What It Is

  • Naturally occurring antioxidant tripeptide — used here in its reduced (active) form at 99% purity
  • Antioxidant Certified

The Science

  • Neutralizes free radicals that break down collagen and accelerate visible aging
  • Inhibits tyrosinase — the enzyme that triggers melanin overproduction, addressing dark spots at source
  • Delivers 250 hours of measurable hydration from a single application sequence

How Deepondé Uses It

  • Three-product sequence: Balancing Toner → Toning Ampoule → Barrier Cream
  • Each step serves a distinct function: antioxidant base, dark spot correction, barrier repair

FAQs

Tremella Fuciformis, commonly called white oyster mushroom or snow mushroom, is a fungal ingredient with an unusual biological property: its polysaccharides hold up to 500 times their own weight in water. What makes it particularly effective for skin is molecular size. The particles are small enough to deliver moisture below the skin surface, where long-term plumpness and smoothness actually come from. Most hydrating ingredients work at the surface and stop there.

Deepondé uses Tremella Fuciformis as the core ingredient in the Signature Origin line because it is one of the few plant-based ingredients that can genuinely function as an alternative to hyaluronic acid, and in some respects outperform it. The mushrooms are grown pesticide-free in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, single-origin and cultivated specifically for this purpose.

Single-origin means one ingredient, from one place, grown under controlled conditions for a specific purpose. Deepondé's Tremella Fuciformis is sourced exclusively from Gangjin, Jeollanam-do in South Korea, a region with soil and climate conditions that produce a consistent, high-quality yield. The mushrooms are pesticide-free and GAP-certified. Nothing is blended from multiple sources or substituted based on availability.

The same principle applies to the Dioscorea Japonica (Korean yam) root extract in the First Mucin line, sourced from Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. Knowing exactly where an ingredient comes from is not a marketing detail. It is how you control what ends up on your skin.

Vintage 3310™ is Deepondé's proprietary extraction process for Tremella Fuciformis. It involves high-pressure steam treatment, natural drying, and 10x vacuum concentration, carried out over 354 hours at low heat. The low-heat condition is deliberate: high heat degrades the polysaccharides that make Tremella effective. The extended duration and repeated concentration steps produce an extract that is significantly more potent than standard snow mushroom ingredients.

The result is Tremella Fuciformis EX™, the concentrated form used in Signature Origin 100. Natural drying alone increases content tenfold. The full extraction process increases effective ingredient concentration by a further 2.5 times. Total process time: 354 hours.

Every ingredient added to a formula introduces variables: potential irritants, competing absorption pathways, interactions that dilute what each individual ingredient can do. Deepondé's formulation approach starts by removing those variables. Signature Origin 100 contains four ingredients. First Mucin Ampoule contains six.

The reasoning is straightforward. When a single, carefully chosen ingredient is concentrated to its fullest potential and given the formulation space to work without interference, the results are more reliable than what a longer ingredient list typically delivers. Fewer ingredients also means fewer reasons for sensitive or reactive skin to respond badly. Every ingredient in a Deepondé formula is there because it is necessary. Nothing fills a gap or rounds out a label.

Clinical testing for skincare measures specific, observable changes in skin using instruments rather than self-reported impressions. For Deepondé products, testing has measured skin hydration levels at the surface and at 2.5mm beneath the skin surface, skin elasticity, pore area and pore count, skin lifting, and skin clarity (transparency). Results are recorded before application, immediately after, and at intervals over days and weeks to establish how long effects last and how they build with consistent use.

The 2.5mm depth measurement matters because it is below where most instruments can reach and below where most products have any effect. Hydration measured there reflects a genuine change in skin condition, not surface coating. All figures published by Deepondé come from instrumental testing conducted under controlled conditions. Individual results may vary.

Hyaluronic acid is a well-understood hydrating ingredient that works primarily at the skin surface, drawing moisture from the environment and holding it there. Tremella Fuciformis polysaccharides function similarly but with a smaller molecular structure that allows delivery below the surface, where moisture retention has a more lasting effect on plumpness, elasticity, and texture.

Signature Origin 100 also differs in formulation approach. Most hyaluronic acid products combine multiple molecular weights of HA with other actives, thickeners, and preservative systems. Signature Origin 100 contains four ingredients total. The clinical results — 100-hour moisturising power, 33.2% increase in skin elasticity, 38% reduction in pore area — follow from the concentration of a single ingredient taken to its absolute limit, not from the accumulation of many.

Tremella Fuciformis (white oyster mushroom) is grown pesticide-free in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, under GAP-certified conditions. It is single-origin: one farm, one ingredient, one standard of quality.

Dioscorea Japonica (Korean yam) root extract, the key ingredient in the First Mucin line, is sourced from Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. Glutathione, used in the Glutathione line, is sourced and used in its reduced form at 99% purity — the bioavailable form that can function as an active antioxidant in skin. Purity and provenance are considered part of the formulation, not separate from it.

Yes. All Deepondé products are vegan. The First Mucin line uses Dioscorea Japonica root extract as a plant-based alternative to traditional mucin, which is animal-derived. No animal origin ingredients are used across any line.

Deepondé formulas are free from fragrance, essential oils, and 8 types of preservatives including parabens. They are also free from 12 common skin-irritating additives. Every product is dermatologically tested. The full ingredient list for each product is available on its product page.

Results from Deepondé products develop gradually and build with consistent use. This is intentional. Skin doesn't change at the surface and work inward — it works from within, in ways that don't announce themselves until they've already happened.

Most people notice an immediate difference in comfort and texture from the first application: skin feels less tight, more settled, and more hydrated. Visible changes in elasticity, pore appearance, tone clarity, or smoothness typically develop over several weeks of daily use. The clinical figures Deepondé publishes — 33.2% increase in skin elasticity, 38% reduction in pore area, 100-hour moisturising power — reflect results measured over time, not after a single use. Honest results take longer than a headline suggests.

Sensitive skin is considered from the beginning of formulation, not addressed afterward by removing one or two known irritants. Deepondé formulas are built around minimal ingredient lists, which reduces the number of variables reactive skin has to contend with. Fragrance, essential oils, and 12 common skin-irritating additives are excluded across the range. Preservative systems are simplified: Deepondé products are free from 8 types of preservatives including parabens.

Every product is dermatologically tested. For skin that is sensitized, compromised, or prone to reaction, a patch test before first use is still recommended — individual skin varies in ways no formula can fully anticipate.
